DO NOT TRACE, COPY, OR OTHERWISE USE/DISTRUBUTE THIS PEICE WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF BOTH MYSELF AND THE COMMISSIONER

Commission for :iconsilverbreathwarrior:'s use ONLY.

Wyeth requested a realistic headshot of her character Ivy ([link]).

I know I said I was putting my commissions on hold for a couple of weeks, but I had a moment and desided to just finish this. ... is it wrong of me to say that I am really happy with how this turned out?

Anyways...
About this image..
I tryed to add the camera focus effect to this peice. The character is the only thing in focus, the leaves a little bit behind her are more out of focus and thus highly blurry, the rest of the forest background is completely out of focus.

This is the first time I've drawn a reptile on the computer and the first time I've drawn an Okapi on the computer (and they are combined D: ), and this is the first time I've tried to created the camera focus effect. So crits are welcome ^^

I added a green light cast to the scene so Ivy's fur is supposed to have that slightly green look to it.

You said in her ref that she had a more "raptor" face, so I tried to combine the anatomy of both the velociraptor and the okapi (though I leaned heavily towards the raptor anatomy). I also added a few scales peaking through the fur along, along the lips, along part of the chin, and along the facial ridges. I hope it added more of a realistic feel to the peice.

As well, she had no eye color in her ref, I think in her old ref that she had a blue and green eye... but I couldn't check because my internet died... so I hope I got that right...

I tried to give her a feirce/cunning look and to give the entire peice an overall feel of danger/unease...

I'm not accustomed to raptor face anatomy, though I am slightly familiar with reptile anatomy (mostly due to me drawing dragons a lot a couple of years ago... All I can say is thank god for Jurassic Park 8D It saved my butt while drawing this.

You didn't state in her ref what type of raptor she was a hybrid of, but (due to her huge dew-claws) I guessed a velociraptor...and that's the type I used for her facial reference... I hope that's alright..

Anyways... I really need to get to sleep, and this reminded me that I should make a new fur tutorial for patterned characters once I get the time... XD

I hope this is what you were wanting Wyeth ^^
